Jo Formosa
Director, Ayurvedic Practitioner, Acupuncturist

With 16 years’ experience in the health and wellness industry, Jo has worked with sporting teams including State of Origin, Olympic teams and the Brisbane Lions as well as sport doctors, orthopedic surgeons and physiotherapists before deciding to follow her life purpose; to help people succeed in their health and in their life.  

Since founding the Back2Health clinic nine years ago, Jo has created a nurturing team environment, instilling a philosophy of listening, education and an individual focus to truly partner with each and every Back2Health client in achieving total wellness.  

As well as directing the future of the clinic, Jo takes great pride in keeping a hands on role as a practitioner of Ayurveda, acupuncture and remedial massage. Having been mentored by two well renown Ayurvedic Doctors; Dr Smita Naram and Dr S. Ajit as well as holding a Diploma of Applied Science in Acupuncture, a Diploma of Remedial Therapy, a Certificate IV as a Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant and completing Foundation Training in Clinical Ayurveda, Jo is an advocate of continual learning and lives by the philosophy that we can never know everything.  

With her extensive training and education combined with her own personal experience of the remarkable difference remedial therapists can make to recovery, Jo has developed an innate ability to know what works. Today she strives to work in collaboration with the medical profession to help people find the root cause of their health and wellbeing problems and spread the word to help as many people as possible get back2health.  

Bonnie Cahill
Musculoskeletal Therapist

Intrigued by the body and how it works, Bonnie completed a Bachelor of Health Science (MST) at Endeavour College of Natural Health in 2008. Since then, she has developed a keen interest in the sports and health industry having worked with the Brisbane Broncos Rugby League, Brisbane Roar Football Club and Queensland Firebirds netball teams.

A member of the Back2Health team for almost two years, Bonnie specialises in treating musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction with a warm and professional approach, taking care to manage every client’s condition individually. She particularly enjoys working in a multi-modality clinic like Back2Health as it gives her the opportunity to learn and work more holistically.

Through continual education to keep up to date with the latest research and techniques, Bonnie aims to create positive physical as well as mental changes in her clients; equipping them with an understanding of how their body functions to achieve their optimum health and well being. 

Versha Narotam
Ayurvedic Therapist
 

Versha has been in the field of counseling and healing for over 9 years. She is very passionate about Ayurveda, particularly as it deals with mind, body and spirit and the treatments encompass every level that is unique to the client.

She has formally completed the Certificate IV Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant as well as Diploma in Counseling. In addition, she has worked in India under the guidance of Dr Smita Naram from Ayushakti to further broaden her knowledge and practical experience in Ayurveda.

Versha loves working with people and seeing the positive benefit Ayurveda can bring to clients.  Empowering people and helping them on the journey to better physical, mental and spiritual well being are what drew her to this field.

Sam Fitzgibbons
Acupuncturist

With an innate desire to help people with traditional medicine, Sam has undertaken a broad range of study in the health field. Holding a Bachelor of Health Science, an Advanced Diploma in Acupuncture and Certificate IV in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Remedial Massage, he has a deep understanding of the synergy between the human body, mind and spirit.

Sam has been working in the massage field for 12 years and has been an Acupuncturist for 4 years. As a health practitioner, he strives to assist people achieve their health goals and to create a positive change in their life.

To Sam, satisfaction comes from seeing the results of his treatments as his clients become confident in managing their own health and grow to become the best they can be.

Ashley Rai
Business Coordinator

Prior to joining the Back2Health team, Ashley worked with Telstra, initially as a business graduate before moving into various specialist roles gaining experience in sales, marketing and operations. She completed a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Management at QUT in 2006.

For Ashley it was the individualistic approach of Ayurveda that drew her to it; treating each person as a unique individual rather than a one size fits all approach, as well explaining why one person may respond to treatment differently to another.

After experiencing the amazing results Ayurveda can provide personally, Ashley is completing her Certificate IV as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant. She enjoys having the opportunity to combine her passion for Ayurveda with her skills in business planning, strategy and development and strives to create successful long term relationships with all Back2Health clients through listening, connecting and providing exceptional quality services.
